Speed dating was the last thing I was thinking of when my best friend Anna said she was arranging for a group of us to go on an event. "Still", I though "safety in number". I had recently ended a relationship of 9 years and was feeling sorry for myself. I found it hard to meet new people as I had not known a single life for so long. Anyway, I thought it would at least be a laugh and would go along with the rest of the group.

I noticed Simon as soon as I walked in and I found out later that he had noticed me too! I met quite a few nice guys that night and ticked 'yes' to four of them. I was flattered the next day to find that I had got 3 matches. A guy called Jamie emailed me first so I agreed to see him for a drink. We're still good friends but there really wasn't any chemistry there. So I decided to contact Simon 3 weeks after the matches had come through. He was still single so we met in Soho for a drink. 8am the following morning we were still walking the streets. Simon hads been married so we had quite a lot in common.

2 months later, we still have loads to talk about and I hope it stays that way for a long time to come.
